Or you could clear out that disk by deleting redundant data while making space for the torrent to download. Users primarily get the stalled error when there are no seeders available for the torrent and only leechers are available.

Seeders are people who have downloaded the whole torrent and are currently uploading it for other people leechers who are downloading it. If there are a very few numbers of seeders available then it would be hard to connect to them, you can always check the number of available seeders in the peers tab, If some seeders are available then try restarting the qbittorrent app and then try again by using the force resume option.

There are a few settings in the qbittorrent app which you would like to reconfigure. Delete all data related to the qbittorrent app like saved preferences, saved torrents and downloaded torrent data.

Then uninstall it and perform a clean install of the app. You can use IObit Uninstaller for delete all saved data of an app while uninstalling it. Your torrent should download normally now. Most of us have our Windows Firewall running to protect us from pitfalls but sometimes it can block some software like qBitTorrent from connecting to the internet or from accessing a few ports.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling I assume that automatically cleared the folder housing those 2 INI files. But just to make sure I have just deleted them and have restarted Qbittorrent, I will follow up on the results. I checked the dead torrents, I checked the trackers just now and it says on the status tab that some trackers are "working" but some are "not working". For the "Do not count slow torrents in these limits" I have just enabled that option just now.

So I'll follow up with the results. The weird thing is that yesterday my torrents suddenly started downloading again and I'm not sure why. I have redone my settings in Qbittorrent due to a recommendation that was posted on my thread in the Qbittorrent Fourms. These are the new settings that were posted, And as such I have changed my previous settings to these settings. Going forward, I recommend a vast reduction on your qBittorrent settings.

The az-calc guide you used was badly flawed when it was made and is over 6 years old. Upload slots: Global maximum: 60 should be lowered further if you lower upload speed much Per torrent: Not "checked" it's not nearly as important as the global max upload slots. Half-open connection value: 10 if you're not firewalled in qBT, even 10 may be overkill.

With 60 total upload slots, that puts an upper limit on how many active torrents you can have at once -- 60, with 1 upload slot for each. Alright, So I still have this problem.

Now I'm not sure what to do. It works sometimes but sometimes it does not work with downloading, even though I have seeds. Qbittorrent isn't even letting me move torrents around, I usually put torrents in a "downloading" folder then I put the finished torrents in a folder marked "Unsorted by Filebot" using the torrent program, But when I use the option "Set Location" in Qbittorrent nothing happens.

That and my torrents never check it seems, It takes forever to check if the check bar even moves at all. I don't know whats going on. So is there something we can do to stop the issue from happening and get the torrent started automatically and if more information is required, what is required? In may case I have found a reason for that behaviour.

It works as long as I don't use proxy. As soon as I switch over to proxy it stalls stuck at downloading metadata. Switch off proxy and restart app and it starts to download again. It first appeared after update to 4. I tried to downgrade with clean install but without success. As soon as I switch to proxy it stalls at downloading metadata.

Same behaviour as macinoshee, also on 4. Works when turning off proxy. Also works again when turning proxy on after metadata has been downloaded. If I add new magnet links after turning proxy on again, it's stuck at same issue, downloading metadata. Yes, true. As soon as metadata is downloaded I can switch proxy on and it continues download.

I can confirm the proxy issue. Add magnet link: stalls at metadata downloading usually, sometimes it works as normal. Turn off proxy, wait for metadata to download, turn on proxy and it keeps downloads. The proxy used is privateinternetaccess. I've been having this issue since like 3.

I just updated to 4. I selected "Use different port on each startup" and it the torrents immediately moved from downloading metadata to downloading. Having the same issue with proxy on windows Thanks, as a fix that works for me until a proper fix comes along I'm using Qbittorrent-VPN docker. Was working fine for me at first.

The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:. Had the same issue. Go to settings and try another Port. EDIT: on Mojave you can use uTorrent not the web, but the normal version had never problems with that. Sorry, something went wrong. Skip to content.
