The graphics, although a bit clunky in places, capture the TV show well, and the speech is topnotch throughout.

A good kid's game. If you know a youngster say, under the age of 8 or so who is a Rugrats fan AND has a high tolerance for video games with poor camera angles and controls, then you've found the perfect game. Don't get me wrong, Rugrats is plenty fun with its wide variety of interesting minigames and simplistic game-play, but the subpar 3D engine rains on the parade a bit. Despite that, Rugrats is a great addition to a child's PlayStation library. Although Rugrats is aimed at a much younger audience, I found a lot to like about the title.

It could be because I'm a fan of the show and the characters have the real voices of the actors. Basically, what you have here is a collection of minigames dressed up with a nice story.

I know I would dig this game as a younger kid and I dig it as a slightly older one. The graphics are sloppy in places which make for jumbled play at times.

But occasionally they hit the mark and gain their own cult-like following. Rugrats has picked up steam as more people have subscribed to cable and had access to Nickelodeon.

The recent movie, books, toys, clothing, sheets, dolls and video games are further testament as to how popular this cartoon has become. In the game Rugrats: Search for Reptar , Tommy Pickles must earn each of the pieces to his Reptar kind of like a Tyrannosaurus Rex puzzle by wandering through his house solving all different types of challenging little quests. In addition, each level contains Reptar Bars.

After Tommy collects 15 Reptar Bars, he will earn bonus puzzle pieces. As soon as Tommy collects twelve puzzle pieces, he gets to play with a real Reptar wandering through town and busting buildings. The game starts with Tommy wandering through his house looking for opportunities to earn puzzle pieces. Each level has a trigger within the house to launch into the level.

You also see text on the screen describing a level as well as giving you a description of how tough the level is.
